Mobilart was established on 24 November, 1994 from the will of some employees, the current owners, who, strengthened by previous production experience, with passion and entrepreneurial spirit took over the company Mobilart snc of Viareggio, one of the very first Italian companies to deal with furnishings for yachts, which entered into crisis at the beginning of the 90s. The three partners, Lorenzo Gasperini, Maurizio Paganelli and Stefano Vagelli, respectively coordinate the administrative, production and technical staff.

The headquarters were located in Cascina due to a tradition of carpenter artisans present in that area, in a building of 1200 square meters, starting with only 3 carpenters and reabsorbing over time all the workers of the previous company.

The turnover of the first year was about 500 million of the old lire. Today, after having exceeded 90 employees, the company has a consolidated balance sheet of over 18 million euros, and, for 2023, expects to exceed 20 million.

The increase in the demand for on-board furnishings to be carried out on a project by the most famous worldwide architects in the sector, leads the company to set up a technical office where 5 technicians, with modern operating systems, develop the projects by transforming the drawings into executive of design decor, to increase its workforce, to purchase technologically advanced machinery, including two machining centres built by the Bulleri di Cascina company, bringing its turnover from 500 million lire in 1995 to 7.5 million euros of 2004.

This expansion made the 1,200 square meters available insufficient, so in 2002 a fraction of a shed adjacent to the structure was leased for a further 650 square meters.

This vision allowed Mobilart to equip itself, already over twenty years ago, with numerical control machines, to pass from traditional design to assisted automatic design up to the use of three-dimensional programs capable of developing the furnishings directly thanks to control numerical machines.
All of this has led Mobilart to collaborate with the most important Italian shipyards, as well as to create furniture abroad. In 2007 Mobilart moved to a new production site of approximately 8000 square meters in which it concentrated all its activities. A new painting department and a showroom for the upholstery business have also found space.

First of all the peculiarity of Mobilart are the technical imprint of its production and the relations with customers. Not just a furniture manufacturing company, but a production technical team capable of helping shipyards also in designing phases.

During the post-2008 crisis, our design potential was of great help to support shipyards that in that period were trying to lighten the costs considered unnecessary for the realisation of projects.

The remarkable technological development operated by the company, combined with the legacy of the ancient Cascina furniture tradition, has allowed Mobilart to conquer important new market spaces, allowing it to operate simultaneously on 15 projects of boats from 30 to 70 meters. In the last years, the value of Mobilart’s production has increased by 10% per year, reaching over 18 million euros in 2022.

Over the years, the company has paid more and more attention to sustainable development and respect for nature. In 2019, a system of photovoltaic panels with a capacity of 210kWp was also installed.

In 2020 Mobilart managed to purchase the land adjacent to its factory and started construction for the doubling of the workshop, completed by summer 2023. This will allow us to further expand the workforce, to increase the spaces for the pre-assembly of furniture, for painting and for warehouses, so as to face the requests that the market is sending us with greater production capacities.
